Twisting Fate By Jessie J. Holmes

A solid first novel Holmes excels in the details of personal life and the characterizations of her main protagonists I most enjoyed the characterization of Charlie as a teen burdened with too much responsibility so early in her life Charlie felt real I guffawed aloud at some of the teenage things that went through her mind e. Book Twisting fate stay g when Charlie first texts Nathan 8 54 He must be busy 8 55 Maybe it was still too early 8 58 He hates me I was absolutely charmed by that Holmes also has a real feel for the intimate interpersonal scenes between sisters between girlfriend and boyfriend there s a perfect amount of kissing in this book and between daughter and father. Book Twisting fated Sometimes the pacing was off We get an almost daily rundown of Charlie s activities for much of the book This is fine for the first 100 pages but by the time we ve seen Charlie go to work for a couple of days the job is important and her 18th birthday rolls around the prose started to feel like a third person diary entry I kept wondering when the climactic action would kick in and when we d get all of the big revelations They came alright and some of them left me a little confused because they were meant to pave the way for a sequel The action sequences too seemed to suffer some incoherence and I wasn t sure of all the secondary characters motivations e. Twisted fate tft items Overall though Twisting Fate hit all of the marks it needed to hit to be an enjoyable read English I quite liked this one and I m excited to see where the author takes the characters in the following books I have a feeling each book is just going to get better English 3. Twisted fate ebook 5A fun read English I thought this book was a fresh story involving Greek Mythology It wasn t sit on the edge of your seat excitement all the time really what book is but it had just enough of those moments to keep it thrilling I found it unpredictable making it a page turner for me I felt like the characters were down to earth realistic and easy to connect with I loved how all of Charlotte s familial relationships weren t perfect and Jessie didn t try to make them that way It made for another struggle in the protagonist s situation one that most people can relate to I thought it was a great book and have recommended it to others that enjoy fantasy and a good love story English Twisting FateIf the past 18 years are any indication Charlotte s expectations for a wild and fun birthday are right on target she ll be running her sisters around town like a soccer mom But all that changes when she meets Nathan Hayes a mysterious but oh so delicious bad boy who happens to be able to start fires with his mind Without warning she s thrust into the incredible world of the Mystics a people descended from Greek Gods with power to control the elements Dating a Mystic has its drawbacks including discovering her own connection to a deadly prophecy Soon Charlotte has to choose between believing in an ancient tale or in herself Suddenly being a surrogate soccer mom doesn t seem so bad Twisting FateJessie J Holmes is a professor of social media marketing an avid reader and self diagnosed Reeses addict When shes not training her students to laugh at her jokes she can usually be found taking marathon level naps in the worlds comfiest bed She currently writes from Utah while unsuccessfully attempting to keep her Reeses addiction under control She is the author of Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire and the young adult novel Twisting Fate Visit her at jessiejholmes.
