The history of Korean Christianity which has solidified its foundation as the nation s church under the complicated relationship among Korea the United States and Japan in the modern age It has grown until the present day unfolds before our very eyes A History of Christian Churches in KoreaMr Min has done a fine job of researching Christianity as far back as records can be found and he does a good job of providing a wealth of information about not only mission activities but also the surrounding culture Unfortunately the book sometimes gets bogged down in names and dates that make it difficult to see the bigger picture Most of the history in this book is from the late 19th century and the decades up to the Korean War Post Korean War there isn t as much written which is surprising because there is likely much information out there post war Perhaps that is why he chose to focus on pre war Christianity All in all this book is dry in places but worth the read for an overall look at Christianity in Korea Hardcover
