Narrative of the Canadian prairie lands in east Saskatchewan downriver reaches of Qu Appelle Valley not a subject for your average page turner but a good read neverthless Liz and I visited the region on our first vacation together in 1975 The author captures the dryness of the land against the backdrop of his family history 368 A little pretentious at times but his narrative brought back the sights sounds and smells of the valley It was like going home 368 I really thought this was a book of fiction judging by the title Trevor has researched the history of many locations across Saskatchewan This would be a good resource for the historian or writer He s done a tremendous amount of work It s interesting that he is also the illustrator 368 Want to read it again 368
