NET painfully written Get an O Reilly book on the same subject It s a poor reference book a poor introduction and poorly written Murach s Visual Basic 2008 If you are familiar with Object Oriented Programming this is a great intro to Visual Basic Everything is thoroughly and clearly explained There are also projects at the end of the chapter to re enforce the lesson The book also uses a split page format The left page is usually a discussion on the topic at hand with the right page typically used for diagrams and code samples I found this very helpful for skimming over chapters that contained information I was already familiar with Murach s Visual Basic 2008
